How to choose the right centrifuge?
First, the introduction of centrifuges
Centrifuges are mainly used to separate solid particles in suspension from liquids, or to separate two immiscible liquids of different densities in an emulsion (e.g. separating cream from milk); It can also be used to remove liquids from wet solids, such as using a washing machine to dry wet clothes; The special superspeed tube separator also separates gas mixtures of different densities; Taking advantage of the different sedimentation rates of solid particles of different densities or particle sizes in liquids, some sedimentation centrifuges can also classify solid particles according to density or particle size.
Second, the classification of centrifuges
(1) Classified according to the rated maximum speed
The maximum speed refers to the speed at which there is no load, and each centrifuge has a rated maximum speed.
Low-speed centrifuge: < 10000rpm, generally 3000~5000rpm; High-speed centrifuge: 10000-25000rpm; Ultra-high-speed centrifuge: >30000rpm.
The commonly used benchtop centrifuge speed is 4000rpm.
(2) According to whether refrigeration is provided, it is divided into refrigerated and non-refrigerated centrifuges
Some samples (such as proteins, cells, etc.) will be destroyed in a high temperature environment, which requires the selection of refrigerated centrifuges, which have a rated temperature range.
Third, The rotor of the centrifuge
There are two main types of rotors for laboratory centrifuges: horizontal rotors and angular rotors.
Horizontal rotor: When running, the blue and the tube are in a horizontal state, at right angles to the rotating shaft, and the sample concentrates the precipitation at the bottom of the centrifuge tube.
Angular rotor: The vessel is fixed at a fixed angle to the shaft, and the sample concentrates the pellet at the bottom of the tube and on the side wall near the bottom.
Choose a horizontal rotor if you want to concentrate the separated sample at the bottom of the tube, and an angle rotor if you want the sample to be concentrated at the bottom of the tube and on the side wall near the bottom.
Fourth,Motors and others
Most of today's centrifuges are brushless motors, and some motors also have brake functions. Refrigerated centrifuges are also different in terms of refrigeration, and now the environmentally friendly technology is, of course, fluorine-free refrigeration.
In addition, it is necessary to consider the noise problem, and try to choose a centrifuge with less noise to maintain a comfortable experimental environment. Be cautious about accessories, some laboratory centrifuges require special centrifuge tubes (for toxic samples or samples that require ultra-high speed centrifugation), which must be equipped with a corresponding sleeve to be safer. There are also special sample containers (irregular vials, blood bags, etc.), which must be carefully considered when choosing a centrifuge, otherwise it will not work properly.
Hunan Anjunyan centrifuge adopts AC frequency conversion motor, which has high speed accuracy, low noise and small size.
Fifth, Hunan Anjunyan has three most commonly used centrifuges
1. Desktop high-speed centrifuge J16K-S
This model is a high-speed and room-temperature type, which meets the commonly used 1.5/2.2ml centrifuge tubes in molecular biology, and can process 24 1.5/2.2ml centrifuge tubes or 12 5ml centrifuge tubes at the same time. Small size, low noise and high efficiency.
2. Tabletop refrigerated high-speed centrifuge J16K-MR
This model is suitable for many types of centrifuge tubes, from 0.5ml, 1.5ml, 2.2ml, 5ml, 10ml, 15ml, 50ml round bottom, 50ml culet to 100ml. Meet the needs of a variety of centrifugation in the laboratory. At the same time, it has a refrigeration function, which can meet some experiments that require refrigeration, such as RNA extraction and so on.
The biggest feature of this model is the super lifting speed, equipped with a 24*1.5/2.2ml rotor, especially suitable for experiments with strict time requirements such as RNA extraction. The J16K-MR is made of corrosion-resistant inner cavity material and is durable. The internal circuit is closed, which is safer and more stable to use.
3. Low-speed large-capacity centrifuge J6K-L
This model can centrifuge up to 4*750ml, with a large number of adapters or tube racks, there is always one to meet your needs.
This model can also be equipped with a microplate rotor, which can be used to centrifuge microplate plates, PCR plates, deep-well plates, etc.
